DOHA: Vivantes, Germany’s largest state-owned healthcare group, will set up its first medical facility in Doha, in collaboration with Aamal company.
Aamal yesterday signed an agreement with Vivantes International Medicine (Vivantes) to create a joint venture for building an outpatient medical centre in Doha.
The contract was signed at the Qatar Berlin Forum by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, chairman of Aamal and Dr Nizar Maarouf, deputy director of Vivantes.
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani and the Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, were present on the occasion.
The outpatient centre to be managed by Vivantes will have a clinic with leading doctors in different fields, a diagnosis centre using the most up-to-date telemedicine technology and visiting professors from Germany.
Through Al Faisal without Borders Foundation, Aamal will work with Vivantes to open nursing schools in several under-developed countries.
