DPS MIS School bagged the Overall Championship in 1st ISC Interschool Table Tennis Tournament organised by Indian Sports Centre in association with Qatar Table Tennis Association ( QTTA ) held on May 12 and May 13 at QTTA Training Centre.
This tournament, being the first initiative of Indian Sports Centre under the patronage of Embassy of India, was conducted in six categories as Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 Boys and Girls, where MES Indian School, Ideal Indian school, DPS MIS School, Birla Public School, Al Khor International school ,Rajagiri Public school, Nobel International School, Olive International School and Loyola International School participated. The results of the tournament in various categories are as below :
Under 10 Boys
Winner — DPS MIS School; Runner-up — Alkhor International School; 2nd Runner-up - Birla Public school.
Under 12 Boys
Winner — MES Indian School; Runner-up — DPS MIS School;
2nd Runner-up — Birla Public school.
Under 14 Boys
Winner — M E S Indian School; Runner-up — Birla Public School; 2nd Runner-up — Al Khor International school.
Under 10 Girls
Winner — DPS MIS School; Runner-up — Birla Public School. Under 12 Girls
Winner —MES Indian School; Runner-up — DPS MIS School; 2nd Runner-up — Al Khor International school
Under 14 Girls
Winner — Ideal Indian School; Runner-up —Alkhor International School; 2nd Runner-up — DPS MIS school.
In the closing and prize distribution ceremony, R K Singh, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Ziad Mahmood, Technical Secretary QTTA, Qatar National Team Head Coach along with ISC President Nilangshu Dey , M S Bukhari Chairman Corporate and Business Promotion, Habibun Nabi General Secretary, Simon D Silva, Head of Indoor Games, and Shivani Mishra, Head of Athlete and School Committee, given away the trophies and medals to the students. R K Singh encouraged all Indian Schools for their larger participation in next year and congratulated the winners / runners up.
Ziad assured to provide best infrastructure facilities of QTTA to Indian Sports Centre for conducting similar tournaments in future . The tournament was conducted by the School committee of Indian Sports Centre.
