Doha: A committee of Qatar’s Shura Council has reviewed a proposal aimed at regulating wedding ceremonies and addressing associated social practices, as part of ongoing discussions on social policy and community traditions.
The Committee on Social Affairs, Labour and Housing held a meeting yesterday, chaired by HE the Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, to examine the proposal submitted by several council members.
The suggestion focuses on organising wedding celebrations and limiting certain associated practices, and was referred to the committee for study by the council. During the meeting, members reviewed various aspects of the proposal and discussed related observations and perspectives before deciding to the full council for further consideration.
