DOHA: The Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will build a medical city in Taez in Yemen at a cost of $289m. The project will be fully funded by Qatar and implemented by Qatari Diar. The facility will be constructed at 547,000 sqm area.
A delegation from Qatari Diar headed by Eng Ahmed Abdullah Al Mazrooi is currently visiting Yemen. The team met with the Governor of Taez, Shouqi Hail, and discussed project preparations. The medical city will include a 1,000 bed hospital and is planned to be completed in three phases. Work on phase one will start in the beginning of next year, Al Sharq reported yesterday quoting Mazrooi.
The medical city will include four specialisations — heart disease, cancer, pediatrics and gynecology and internal diseases.
