DOHA: A joint inspection campaign to monitor establishments in the Industrial Area has been launched by two ministries, officials have said.
Officials from the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning met with officials from the Ministry of Energy and Industry at Al Rayyan Municipality on Wednesday to discuss and launch these inspections, reported Al Sharq.
The meeting discussed several topics related to regulating the activities in the Industrial Area in the jurisdictions of the formation of the two ministries.
During the meeting the two ministries officials agreed to organise joint inspection campaigns in the Industrial Area where the municipality inspectors will be looking for violations related to municipal rules like violations of buildings, public health, violations in car workshops and garages, violations on food safety. The inspectors from the Ministry of Energy and Industry will look at the industrial facilities to ensure that they meet and maintain the conditions and obligations of their licensing.
The officials from the two ministries also agreed on cooperation between the inspectors of the two ministries in reporting violations and sharing information regarding these violations. In case the ministry of municipality found violations which are in the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Energy it will pass on the information to the concerned authorities and action will be taken and vice versa.
The joint campaigns are aimed at reducing the phenomenon of irregularities especially in the Industrial Area where they are common and create a society that is safe and secure free of violations according to the officials from the two ministries.
