DOHA: The Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) has launched a new service to assist Filipino expatriates here to trace their friends and relatives who went missing in the catastrophic Typhoon Haiyan.
The international tracing service is being launched in association with the Philippine embassy in Qatar and the Philippine National Red Cross.
Filipinos here who are still awaiting information about their dear and near ones hit by the typhoon can access this service by visiting the QRC headquarters in Doha. They are required to fill up a form providing all available information about the missing ones. This data will be forwarded to the Philippine National Red Cross and international agencies working in search and rescue operations in the typhoon-hit areas.
Saleh Al Mohannadi, QRC’s Secretary-General, said the new service adds to the organisation’s ongoing programmes to support victims of Typhoon Haiyan. He said all information will be kept confidential. The Peninsula
