New Delhi: The CBI yesterday arrested seven people from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on charges of impersonating candidates in an online nationalised bank clerical examination, officials said.
Three impersonators — two students of IIT Delhi and a system engineer of a Hyderabad-based private company — were arrested along with four other people from an institute in Ghaziabad.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) charged them under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Prevention of Corruption Act and Information Technology Act over allegations that they were impersonating other people in a nationalised bank clerical examination conducted online by a Mumbai-based institute. Cash amounting to `650,000 was recovered from the possession of one of the accused.
Rupee slips to below 63-level
Mumbai: The rupee slipped below 63-mark by falling 51 paise to trade at a fresh 11-month low of 63.45 against the US dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange due to heavy dollar demand from importers amid falling crude oil prices.
Besides continued demand for the American currency from importers, increased capital outflows by foreign funds also kept pressure on the rupee.
