Hamad International Airport, slated to open by the middle of this year, is expected to enhance Qatar’s position as a regional aviation hub.
The ‘Runway to the future, Gateway to the world’ has many notable features, including two driverless trains, spa, gym, squash courts, mosque, swimming pool, cafeteria, transit hotel and other facilities complementary to the 21st century aviation industry.
The $15.5bn airport, once fully operational, will receive nearly 360,000 aircraft carrying about 50 million passengers and 1.4 million tonnes of cargo every year from across the world.
