Qatar to host GCC e-Government panel meeting

Doha: The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ictQATAR) will host the 15th meeting of the GCC e-Government Executive Committee on February 18-19 in the presence of executives and chairpersons of e-Government authorities and programmes.
The meeting at Four Seasons Hotel Doha aims to enhance technical cooperation and joint action, fostering exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field.
Items related to the enhancement of e-Government services will be discussed, including GCC initiatives and setting standards for GCC official web portals.
The committee will also discuss the GCC e-Government networks integration and sectors that would benefit from them.
The committee will review a report from Qatar on developing a knowledge management portal among Gulf countries and work progress on this regard.
Reports and items on collaboration among member states in the area of e-Government will be reviewed.
The panel will prepare the agenda for the fourth meeting of the GCC e-Government Ministerial Committee to be held in Doha this March. QNA

‘Monster Makers Laboratory’ today


DOHA: Qatar National Library (QNL) is to organise ‘Monster Makers Laboratory’, a fun-filled children’s educational event, today.
Organised in collaboration with Qatar Foundation Community Services and Qatar Museums, the event will be held at the Aaqool Atrium at the Qatar Foundation Recreation Centre in Education City, from 4-6 pm.
It will feature various activities, including teaching children the basics of monster making using simple materials and geometrical shapes. The event is open to all children aged between 3 and 11 and their parents.
“We look forward to welcoming Qatar’s community to the laboratory which demonstrates QNL’s continued commitment to its mission to spread knowledge, nurture imagination, cultivate creativity, and preserve the nation’s Heritage for the Future,” said Dr Claudia Lux, QNL’s Project Director.
“The laboratory’ also demonstrates the diverse and innovative ways in which QNL carries out its mission, by tailoring its approach to various age demographics within the local community.”
