Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced a change to its current vaccine priority group eligibility criteria to include teachers and school administration staff in the list as the country continues to expand its National COVID-19 Vaccination Program.

On Twitter, the Ministry stated that in order to accommodate this drive, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has opened a mass vaccination center at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) to roll out Covid-19 vaccinations to teachers and school administration staff.

"To ensure the safety of the community, invitations for appointments will be delivered in a phased approach," the Ministry said in a statement.

In the same announcement, the Ministry said that teachers and school administration staff will receive an SMS that invites them to attend the vaccination center during dedicated time slots.

MoPH also affirmed that vaccinations will be administered only to those who have received an invite. The others are requested to wait until they receive an SMS invite.
