Two held for murder of Staines

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) yesterday arrested two absconding accused in the Graham Staines murder case. A CBI team arrested Ghanashyam Mohant, 35, and Ranjan Mohant, 38, from their villages in Keonjhar district. Australian missionary Staines and his two sons, Philip, 10, and Timothy, six, were burnt to death on January 22, 1999, while they were sleeping in their station wagon in a village in Keonjhar, about 400 km from here. The main accused, Dara Singh, and his accomplice Mahendra Hembram were jailed for life.
Japanese man jumps to death
 
Gurgaon: A Japanese national working as a senior executive at Maruti Suzuki’s ancillary company died after jumping from a multi-storey building in the Sushant Lok area, police said yesterday. Y Fujii, 54, jumped from the 15th floor of Summit Apartments at Sector 54 here. He had been living there for a few years. He died on the spot. He was working as general manager (sales) in a company that manufactures spare parts for Maruti Suzuki India limited. Police found a suicide note in his apartment. The two line note said in Japanese: ‘I am dying, no one is responsible’.
