London: More than 341,000 Britons signed an electronic petition on the British government website demanding that it impose sanctions on the Israeli entity for violating the rights of the Palestinians and repressing them.

The text of the petition calls on the government to "impose sanctions on Israel, including preventing trade with it, especially in the field of weapons," adding that "the unequal treatment of Palestinians and illegal settlements according to the international community is an insult to the civilized world."

In another electronic petition, more than 105,000 citizens signed in order to urge the government to officially recognize the state of Palestine "because failure to recognize it allows Israel to continue persecuting the Palestinians."

According to the rules for submitting petitions, the government must respond to any petition signed by more than 10,000 people, and parliament must discuss the subject of any petition whose signatories exceed 100,000 citizens.

It is worth noting that the British capital, London, witnessed a march in which tens of thousands participated last Saturday in support of the Palestinians in the face of the bombing launched by the Israeli entity on the Gaza Strip since last week, which has killed more than 200 and wounded hundreds in the Strip so far
