RSF: Doha Ballers seize basketball title

The Doha Ballers celebrate their basketball title at the Ramadan Sports Festival following their win in the final against Spurs at Aspire Dome on Thursday.

 

Doha: The first week of the Ramadan Sports Festival (RSF) concluded in the Aspire Dome on Thursday, following impressive performances by the teams taking part in the basketball and Staff futsal tournaments.

The Doha Ballers team won the basketball tournament title following an intense match against a Spurs team that was far from its best, with the eventual result 43-19 to the Ballers.
The new champions capitalised on Spurs’ poor formation during the match, dominating the court from its opening moments and infiltrating their defence to take the title home by a comfortable margin.
In the Staff Futsal tournament, the Mediterranean United team took home the title following a strong performance against team Bombers that resulted in a 5-3 win.
In the first half, United took the lead with two goals but the Bombers equalised at the start of the second half with two goals in quick succession.
The Bombers continued their strong offense with a third goal, only for Mediterranean United to come back with another two goals to run out eventual victors.
Meanwhile, in the ladies’ competitions, EN Servanti claimed the Ladies’ Tennis crown.
This was Servanti’s first tournament at Aspire but that didn’t stop her dominating the competition, which she was overjoyed to have won. On receiving her medal,  
The Beach Soccer tournament, meanwhile, witnessed some of the most enthralling action of the evening.
Most notable was the contest between Katara and Adagio, which the former won by 9 goals after an exhausting match.
Morocco was also able to pass Al Sultan with ease following a 7-4 win, while  Al Futtaim eased past Qatar with a 6-0 win.
