Doha: Aljazeera America will begin beaming into millions of US households on Tuesday from its base in New York.
The cable news network is being launched in the US following the success and popularity of Aljazeera English. It was noted that some 40 percent of its online viewers are from the US. The network aims to have a strong presence in the American market. The network had earlier brought Al Gore’s Current TV cable outlet to start its news service in the US. Among several other news programmes, documentary programmes will also be telecast on the network.The Peninsula
