Independence Day celebrations held at MESIS

Doha: MES Indian School Abu Hamour Branch celebrated 75th Independence Day of India with zeal and enthusiasm. Following all the coronavirus protocols, the celebrations were broadcast live on Zoom and students were able to witness the event from their home. 

The celebrations started with prayer recitation by Naja Mehdin of grade VII and proceeded by a welcome speech by Zeba Adam, the academic coordinator at MESIS.

The flag hoisting was done in the school auditorium by MES governing board secretary Hazmal Ismail in the presence of president officiating Khalil A.P and felicitation address was delivered by MC Muhamed, the director of cultural activities.

Principal of MESIS Mohammed Haneef presented the message of the day. Students participated in the celebrations by presenting cultural activities showcased their skills in the celebrations in cultural programs.

The patriotic group song was followed by keyboard performance of ‘Sare Jahan Se Achha’ by Vandit of grade V followed by keyboard version of Vande Mataram by Blessy of grade VI. The speech about Independence

Day was delivered by Sera Kuriakose of grade VII. It was followed by a spectacular fusion dance by students. Umaima of grade V dedicated a heartfelt poem to soldiers. The vote of thanks was presented by Anu Manoj, teacher for primary section.
