Geneva: Qatar has urged the high contracting parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to take measures to achieve real protection for the civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, as Israel failed to meet its obligations.
This came in a statement by Qatar’s permanent delegation during their participation in a conference of high contracting parties on the protection of civilians in armed conflicts, held to consider measures to enforce and ensure respect for the convention in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
Qatar expressed appreciation to the Swiss Government for holding the conference to discuss measures to enforce the convention in the occupied Palestinian territories, promoting commitment contained in all four Geneva conventions of 1949, by state parties to respect them (conventions) under all circumstances.
