Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center has launched an Arabic language course for native speakers, organised for the benefit of the Dar Al-Ifta affiliated with the Association of Scholars in the Republic of South Africa.

The course is attended by 15 students and aims to promote interest in the Arabic language and enhance learners’ ability to communicate effectively in Arabic, given its cultural significance to many societies.

Director of the Center, Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Marri stated that hosting students from South Africa for the second time represents a valuable opportunity to enhance students’ Arabic language skills, develop their competencies, and promote the spread of the Arabic language and interest in it, particularly due to its civiliational and cultural importance.

The course includes developing students’ conversational abilities and other language skills, in addition to strengthening their teaching capabilities. The focus is placed on the most urgent and important aspects in this field, in line with the students’ needs. It is worth noting that this course is the second to be held for the Dar Al-Ifta affiliated with the Association of Scholars in South Africa.  A similar course was organised last year for another group and was characterised by strong student interaction and significant benefit.

The Center is keen to maintain communication with various institutions interested in learning Arabic among non-native speakers, to identify their needs, and to design its courses in a way that meets those needs.
