Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Press Center (QPC) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Middle East Council on Global Affairs to strengthen collaboration between media and research institutions in Qatar and the wider Arab region.

The partnership aims to advance media and research work, organise scientific, cultural, and knowledge-based events, and promote the exchange of expertise and information on topics of mutual interest.

The agreement was signed at the Center’s headquarters by Director General of Qatar Press Center Sadiq Al-Amari and Executive Director of the Middle East Council on Global Affairs Khalid Al-Jaber.

On this occasion, the Director General of the Qatar Press Center stated that the primary objective of the agreement is to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two parties across multiple fields. This includes organising scientific, cultural, and knowledge-driven events, as well as hosting seminars and specialized workshops related to media and research.

He added that the agreement also provides for the preparation of joint publications and the exchange of existing publications to broaden outreach and strengthen intellectual dialogue. It further seeks to facilitate the exchange of expertise among researchers, journalists, and the local community.

The Director General described the agreement as a strategic step toward building a lasting bridge between scientific research and media practice, contributing to improving the quality of both media and research content. He emphasized that the partnership will serve as an integrated platform for knowledge enhancement, supporting research initiatives and enabling stakeholders to achieve shared goals in serving society while expanding media and academic cooperation at both local and regional levels.

The Executive Director of the Middle East Council on Global Affairs noted that this agreement is the first of its kind signed by the Council with a specialised media institution. He highlighted its importance in expanding the role of media within the Council’s activities and strengthening its impact in disseminating knowledge and analysing international affairs.

He explained that the agreement provides a comprehensive platform to support studies and research in the fields of economics, defense, security, and international policy, thereby elevating intellectual dialogue and expanding horizons of scientific and media cooperation at both regional and international levels.

The agreement falls within a shared strategy to enhance collaboration between press, media, and research institutions, building strong bridges between media content and academic studies in service of Qatari and Arab societies alike.

Future activities under the agreement include offering consultations in cultural, scientific, media, and journalistic fields; organizing specialized training programs for executive and administrative leaders; and developing institutional capacities and competencies.
