DOHA: The Public Prosecution has filed charges against a veterinary clinic for prescribing a wrong medicine that resulted in the death of several animals in a farm.
The clinic was sued following a complaint lodged by the farm owner that a number of animals at his farm died after they were given the medicine prescribed by the facility, Al Sharq reported yesterday.
Repeated incidents of animals dying at the farm prompted the owner to lodge the complaint. The animals developed symptoms of an unknown disease leading to their sudden death, said the daily.
Investigations and medical examinations conducted by the law enforcement authorities found that the deaths were caused by a wrong medication given by the clinic.
The medicine was not suitable for treating the diseases for which it was prescribed.
The case was referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation, which later filed charges against the clinic at the court, said the daily.
