Doha: Ooredoo yesterday announced that it had reached the milestone of providing Fibre Broadband and Mozaic TV services to more than 150,000 customers in Qatar.
The announcement comes six months after the company celebrated connecting 100,000 customers, demonstrating Qatar’s demand for home entertainment and high-speed broadband connection options.
“We believe that the Internet should be available for all, which is why we’ve worked tirelessly to roll out the best and most advanced network throughout Qatar. Today’s announcement shows that ultra-fast broadband isn’t just the domain of large businesses any more, with consumers now demanding high speed and quality,” said Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director Community and Public Relations.
Ooredoo Fibre packages start from QR250 per month, and include a landline, broadband and Mozaic HD TV subscription.
Ooredoo’s research has shown that much of the customer growth is due to the free upgrades from ADSL to fibre. Customers can upgrade by calling Ooredoo on 181 and booking an installation.
Ooredoo Fibre is helping evolve entertainment services in Qatar. Only Ooredoo Fibre customers can access Next Generation Mozaic TV which includes hundreds of live channels in high definition and the ability to pause, rewind and record television.
Next Generation Mozaic TV subscribers also get access to Mozaic GO, Ooredoo’s entertainment service that works seamlessly across Qatar via WiFi and Ooredoo’s superfast 4G network.
Ooredoo plans to create more tailor-made packages for customers in 2014 to help contribute to the growth of the knowledge-based economy in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
