ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to make a formal speech to the nation today.
A senior official at the Prime Minister’s House said arrangements had been finalised and his speech was being given final touches.
In his first address to the nation since his election in June, Sharif is expected to apprise the people of challenges his government is facing in tackling issues like terrorism, energy crisis and revival of the economy.
Sources in the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz said the premier would also inform the nation about policies and strategies to resolve issues and decisions regarding electricity tariff.
He may also announce the date of the proposed conference of all political parties having representation in parliament to discuss a national counter-terrorism strategy being formulated by the Interior Ministry.
