BPS marks World Humanitarian Day
World Humanitarian Day was celebrated in the Birla Public School summer camp — Chill The Summer 2014.
The parents were invited for the second presentation of the camp, where they were given badges in support of the noble cause. The camp incharge Rakesh Verma spoke about the heroic aid workers who rush bravely to help people in need, and their sacrifices. He also stressed about the need to recognize the millions of people who count on humanitarian workers for their very survival.
World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity to celebrate the spirit that inspires humanitarian work around the globe. It is the day to recognize those who face danger and adversity in order to help others.
The day was designated by the United Nations General Assembly to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq.
A special Hindi prayer song was played for this occasion.
