Record attendance at the Dukhan road race

Doha: Qatar Cycling Federation in cooperation with Qatar Chain Reaction organised another race in the series of Ooredoo Cycling For All events. 
The riders had to tackle with only course in Qatar which features hills. 
The start and finish was near Dukhan Beach, and the route was set on to highway to Umm Bab and back which is constantly going up and down. 
After 55km on the highway, the riders passed the finish line to make additional lap in the north oil fields of Dukhan, which are also more technical and feature some small hills. 
The total distance of the race, which was running in hotter weather than usual for this time of the year, was 78km. 
There were five categories in the race. 
The women’s B category (55km) was won by Jenn Wicks-Hancock (J&J Racing) ahead of Eulogy Van Dyk (Carbon Wheels Racing) and Aoife Boyce (Qatar Chain Reaction). The women’s A (78 km) grade won Isora Sosa Caballero in front of Emily Kelly And Carmel Lord (both Qatar Chain Reaction). In Men’s C category (55km) victory went to Vergel Delfin (Pinoy Roadies Qatar), second was Abdulaziz Almohannadi (Qatar Cyclists) and third Aaron Bruce. Men B category (78km) which was the biggest was won by Mohamed Lamine (Qatar National Junior Team) ahead of Farhan Farizi (Qatar National Cadets) and Andreas Dopfer. The strongest category Men A (78km) was dominated by Qatar national team and won by Abdullah AFIF (Qatar National Senior Team) in front of Mohamed Abdelhakim (Qatar National Junior Team) and Moosa Said (Qatar National Senior Team). 
The awarding was done by Dr Mohamed Al Kuwari, Dr Abdulaziz Al Kuwari (both Qatar Cyclists), Saadon Al Kuwari (veteran Qatari car racer) and Ibrahim Mohammed (QCF).
There are more and more riders on the roads of Qatar each year, this time more than 150 riders participated, which is greatest number to date. 
The next event in the series of Ooredoo Cycling For All will be on November 6 at the Shamal Sports Club.
