Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has released a notice on an expected tidal rise from Friday to Sunday. During this predicted weather condition, QMD urged citizens and residents to take extra precautions as part of the beaches will be submerged.

In the post, QMD said: "Due to an expected 2 meter tidal rise, simultaneously with southeasterly flow of wind over southeast and north sector of the country, Friday through Sunday, Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be careful as part of the beaches will be submerged during these times."
During this high tide, QMD had advised, in a video posted on Twitter earlier, to avoid all marine activities including:
- Free swimming
- Boat trips
- Scuba diving and free diving
- Surfing
- Fishing tours
- Windsurfing
