The Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada presenting a Qatarisation Certificate to President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc, Bart Cahir.

Doha: ExxonMobil Qatar recently released its Citizenship Report, detailing how ExxonMobil contributes to Qatar’s growing economy through the development of its natural resources in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

The other elements of Qatar’s vision – human, social, and environmental development – are also addressed at every level of ExxonMobil Qatar’s activities, including workforce development, community initiatives, research programs, environmental management projects, educational and training programmes, and sports sponsorships.

“As part of ExxonMobil’s commitment to Qatar, we are proud to contribute to the National Vision through the energy of our people, our advanced technology and our expertise in operational excellence,” said Bart Cahir, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc.

“Our presence in Qatar dates back several decades to when Mobil Oil established an affiliation with the State of Qatar.  We proudly maintain this long-term commitment, focused on the four pillars of development put forth in the National Vision,” Cahir said.

ExxonMobil’s partnership with Qatar Petroleum has yielded remarkable results over the years. Joint ventures - Qatargas and RasGas - handle operations in Qatar, and together, through the development of new technologies and the well-considered use of Qatar’s natural resources, have yielded an unrivaled liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply chain.

ExxonMobil presented the Citizenship Report as part of Qatar’s Sustainable Development Industry (SDI) Reporting Initiative under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Industry and the Qatar Petroleum HSE Regulations and Enforcement Directorate.

ExxonMobil participated in the SDI Reporting Initiative through the submission of case studies relevant to its activities in Qatar as well as information on ExxonMobil processes and procedures that are applicable to its global activities.

The in-depth report covers a broad range of topics, including governance; safety, health and the workplace; environmental performance; managing climate change risks; industry development; and community engagement and investment.

“The sum of these activities demonstrates our respect and commitment to the State of Qatar and its people,” said Cahir.

“The economic and social progress supported by His Highness the Emir and espoused through the National Vision are strongly supported by ExxonMobil.”
