Doha: Real estate transactions in January were dominated by vacant plots, recording deals worth QR2.49bn, about 64 percent of overall transaction value across all real estate assets, Century 21 Qatar, a real estate consultancy firm said in a report.
Real estate market in Qatar witnessed 591 deals worth QR3.9bn in January.
Villa deals were worth QR950m, about 24 percent of all transactions.
Buildings recorded deals worth recording QR193m, about 5 percent while mixed and uncategorised asset deals were worth QR281m, about 7 percent of overall transaction value.
Across the seven municipalities, vacant plots recorded the highest number of deals (444), followed by villas transactions (136), buildings (seven) and mixed type assets (four).
Doha Municipality registered QR2.1bn worth of deals, covering about 55 percent of overall transaction value.
Al Rayyan Municipality witnessed the second highest transaction value (QR600m), Al Wakra and Al Da’ayen (QR315m and QR304m respectively), and Umm Salal and Al Khor (QR261m and QR184m respectively).
Al Shamal Municipality registered deals worth QR8m, about 1.2 percent of the overall transaction value.
In terms of number of deals, Doha Municipality registered 121 deals, followed by Al Wakra and Al Da’ayen (112 and 108 respectively), Al Rayyan and Umm Salal (93 and 79 deals respectively) while Al Khor and Al Shamal witnessed 50 and 28 transactions respectively.
