Doha: The Minister of Administrative Development H E Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi yesterday met Francis Maude, the British Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General.
The two reviewed bilateral relations and issues of common concern to Qatar and Britain.
A number of senior officials at the Ministry of Administrative Development attended the meeting, along with the delegation accompanying the British official.
Doha: The Ministry of Environment will lead the Shamal west coastline cleaning campaign tomorrow in cooperation with the Indian Cultural Centre.
This is one of the several campaigns being organised in association with celebration of Qatar National Environment Day on February 26, 2015, and as part of the ministry’s initiative to keep Qatar’s shorelines free of plastic and other debris mainly brought in by ocean currents.
The west coast of Shamal was chosen for the campaign, being organised under the auspices of
H E Ahmad Al Hemaidi, Minister of Environment, as it has the highest density of plastic debris on Qatar’s shoreline.
Doha: The eighth day of QatArt Handmade Market will open today at Katara Art Studios Courtyard.
Katara will display a wide variety of handicrafts in collaboration with QatArt. The series, launched in October 2014, concludes with the last show on March 20.
Item’s made by Qatar’s handicrafts community include jewellery, accessories, paintings, illustrations, graphic design, craft kits, bags, clothes, home decor and accessories, photographs, handcrafted cards and boxes, and homemade food and party supplies.
