Doha: Scattered rains were reported this afternoon from many parts of Qatar.

“Observing scattered rain of varying intensity, with the continuous of fresh to strong northwesterly wind, leading to blowing dust in some areas, especially open ones,” Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) tweeted.

QMD also shared a video showing moderate rain in Al Wakra. Rains were also reported by motorists on Dukhan highway and even some parts of Doha also received light drizzle.

“Rainy clouds continue to flow into the country's skies , please be careful as it may be thundery at times,” QMD added.

“The last images show the beginning of the impact of another band of rainy clouds on Qatar. Please be careful as this may sometimes be associated with thunder cells activity,” they added along with some safety tips for motorists like – move between tracks slowly, reduce speed, keep a safe distance form the vehicle in front, turn on headlights, stay away from any distractions and avoid submerged roads.

QMD had earlier in the day tweeted that the latest radar images are showing that northern regions of the country are affected by scattered rain of varying intensity.
