Institution of Engineers (India) holds technical seminar

The Qatar Chapter of The Institution of Engineers (India) held a Technical Seminar on “Precast Concrete Construction” at the Ashoka Hall of The Indian Cultural Center recently. Narendra Kulkarni, an executive committee member of the chapter, was the guest speaker. The programme was attended by over 85 engineers. In his presentation he stressed the importance of precast concrete construction in modern construction industry, where importance is given to various factors as sustainability, green building, quality and safety and most important is speed of construction.
The seminar was followed by a talk on “Road Map to get in to Register of Engineers, in Qatar” by the treasurer of the chapter, R Ganeshram. In his presentation, Ganeshram covered the necessity and procedures for all engineers working in Qatar to get registered with UPDA (Urban Planning Development Authority of Qatar).
Chairman Seenu S Pillai gave the welcome speech and spoke about the forthcoming Engineers day celebration in Radission Blue on September 19 and the theme seminar on Septemeber 5. He also informed the attendees about the chapter’s move to felicitate the Indian Engineers who have been working in Qatar for 30 years and more on the theme seminar day. He later gave the plaque of appreciation to the guest speakers.
Shaik Kareem Basha, Secretary, compered and conducted the events. Syed Raziulla, Joint Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
