DOHA: Over 50 children with special needs gathered to play sports with athletes yesterday at Qatar Sports Club thanks to the ‘Run The World’ Festival event ‘Heart Qatar’.

This initiative aimed to highlight the importance of healthy and active lifestyle for everyone, regardless of physical abilities and age.

The day started with welcoming the kids from Shafallah Center and Hamad Medical Corporation by the members of ‘Run The World’ festival team.

During several hours children had a chance to play football and outdoor games with volunteers, enjoy the picnic with servings by MBCo-Qatar and receive gifts from The Youth Company members.

Diego Pinzon, Acting Executive Director of The Youth Company and Project Manager of ‘Run The World’ Festival, said: “With this event we wanted to underline the fact that sports are crucial for growing up healthy and it is important to get involved in them from an early age.”
