DOHA: The GCC Nursing Technical Committee has honoured a nursing executive from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) for her role in the advancement of the nursing profession.
The committee awarded first place in its Nusaiba Bint Kaab Nursing Award to Sheikha Al Dossari, Assistant Executive Director of Ambulatory Services at HMC’s Women’s Hospital.
Al Dossari was honoured during the 10th GCC Nursing Symposium in Jeddah by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Executive Board of the Health Ministers’ Council for GCC states.
The award recognised her role in advancing nursing services during her 20 years of service, by adopting a creative approach for developing the nursing profession and in providing high quality holistic healthcare for individuals, groups and the community at large.
The GCC Nursing Technical Committee also honoured Haila Swaid Salim Jawhar, Assistant Executive Director for Nursing Services at Women’s Hospital, who gave a lecture entitled “GCC Nursing Experiences and Disasters: Strategic Directions”.
Jawhar gave a comprehensive account of the role played by nursing in practical plans and preparedness strategies adopted by HMC for emergencies and disasters in its hospitals during the past years.
