DOHA: Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) is supporting the Hope Qatar Center for children with special needs with events scheduled for next month.

Hope Qatar has been organising the Message of Hope series since 2010 with the objective of creating awareness in society about abilities of people with special needs. The event that takes place once a year has made a huge impact on creating awareness and motivating thousands of people, including children, youth and adults, over the recent years.

The 2013 edition of the series will feature a team of five handicapped artists from the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists organisation.

“Qatar Diabetes Association shares many values with Hope Qatar Center for children with special needs who are the organisers of the Message of Hope events. Both organisations focus on creating awareness and offering help to face challenges. Both focus on strengthening individuals and giving them inspiration, courage, and techniques to face challenges they encounter in their daily lives.” said Dr Abdullah Hamaq, Executive Director of QDA.

The event will be held on February 6 and 7 at Education City and will feature a series of workshops, live painting events, and an All Qatar Painting competition for students where they will attempt to create paintings and artwork without the use of their hands. It will also feature an exhibition of works created by handicapped artists. All the events are open to public.
