Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha hosted members of the Shafallah Centre that provides services to students with disability, to a special Mother’s Day breakfast earlier last week. Approximately 20 youngsters and their mothers enjoyed an international buffet of breakfast favourites, played games and celebrated this special day with their loved ones.
The hotel is currently training students from the Shafallah Centre at the property, in basic skills and functions of the housekeeping and food and beverage departments. During the two-month training programme, the students are learning the importance of teamwork and time management, whilst nurturing self-confidence. The hotel aims to continue its collaboration with the centre, and bring in more trainees on a regular basis.
“As part of Shine, our global sustainability programme, we are frequently participating in many events, such as teaming up with Qatar Orphan Foundation (Dhreima) and the Qatar Green Building Council, and working together in sustainability efforts such as Earth Hour, Tree Planting Day and Beach Clean Up,” commented Hassan Hassan, Director of Human Resources. “The Shafallah Centre Mother’s’ Day breakfast is part of the hotel’s continuous effort to give back to the community. We are also very proud to be training these students at our hotel and honing their skills.”
