Lekhwiya's goal-scoring machine Nam Tae-hee yesterday was named QFA Player of the Year.
At a glittering ceremony, Tae-hee beat Al Sadd star and Barca legend Xavi and fellow striker Hassan Al Haydos to claim the top award.
The 25-year-old South Korean picked up the shining Player of the Year trophy as QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Thani looked on.
Tae-hee scored 14 goals for Lekhwiya who went on to win the Qatar Stars League (QSL) title for the fifth time in the last seven years last month. Lekhwiya's winning coach Djamel Belmadi was also present.
Tae-hee said: "First I want to thank everybody at Lekhwiya. They helped me a lot. I also want to say 'thank you' - to Qatar football fans.
He added: "I try to do my best as always. We have an important game coming up. Our target is to reach the next round of the AFC Champions League. I hope we can win the AFC Champions League (title) also."
It was a night to savour for Al Sadd as Emir Cup winning manager Jesualdo Ferreira was named Coach of the Year.
Portuguese Ferreira helped Al Sadd win the Qatar Cup and the prestigious Emir Cup on Friday. Saeed Al Misnad handed over the Best Coach trophy to Ferreira.
QFA President said: "It has been a great season for some of the teams and players. I applaud the performances of Nam Tae-hee and the Al Sadd team for doing so well."
He added: "It has been a season to remember. We got to see some great performances and some spectacular football. For Al Sadd, it was a great season. At the same time, we wish the teams good luck next season.”
The annually-staged ceremony was attended by the entire Qatar football family including QFA Vice President Saoud Al Mohannadi and QSL chief Hani Ballan.
Scores of other soccer dignitaries that included Qatar national team coach Jorge Fossati were also present.
Officials of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy were also present at the well-attended awards gala.
Members of the local print and television mediums were also present to document this year's ceremony.
The entire Al Sadd side along with captain Xavi were present as were the QSL team coaches at the superbly decked up Qatar National Convention Centre.
Xavi, dressed up in a neat suit, sat next to Al Haydos and Tae-hee, the star of the night.
Felix Sanchez, who gave the award to Al Moez Abdullah, the best U-23 player, yesterday said: "I think they got what they deserved. They got their chances from the coach. They must have benefited from the matches this season. There are more players who are pushing hard but these three are the ones who deserved to be here."
The program was hosted by popular sports show host Sadoon Al Kuwari.
The proceedings were kicked-off by a video slide showing he spectacular inauguration of the Khalifa International Stadium on Friday night ahead of the Emir Cup final. Seconds later, another brief slide show detailed the growing popularity of football among children in Qatar.
