Doha, Qatar: Students from Qatar Foundation’s (QF) Pre-University Education (PUE) schools took part in the Doha International Book Fair, showcasing self-written stories that reflect their awareness of key global issues, such as the environment, sustainability, and technology, while promoting positive social and moral values.

Among the participants was Jawaher Al-Mujali, a student at Qatar Academy Doha (QAD), who presented her first literary work: a story aimed at children and youth that promotes environmental awareness and highlights sustainability efforts within Education City.

“I was keen to convey this message in a simple, story-based format,” she said.

Al-Mujali used artificial intelligence (AI) tools to design her story’s illustrations, aiming to create engaging visuals for young readers, and said: “I wanted to incorporate AI into my first work to keep up with technology, especially since the story is about tech and sustainability,” she explained.

Other QAD students also took part in the exhibition, including siblings Hissa Mubarak Al Thani and Tamim Mubarak Al Thani, whose participation stood out.

Hissa said: “This was my first experience writing a story. I’ve always loved reading and dreamed of writing a story that reflects my thoughts. Without my family’s support, I wouldn’t have reached this point. Their encouragement gave me confidence and helped me develop my communication skills. I feel proud and happy to have achieved this.”

Tamim Mubarak Al Thani reflected on his participation: “I was so excited when I found out I would be participating in the book fair, it was a wonderful surprise. I learned a lot from the experience and improved my writing and drawing skills. I hope to create more stories in the future."

Lama Mohammed Namshan, a student at Qatar Academy Al Wakra (QAW), said: “I’m so happy to have taken part in the exhibition, and I’m proud of myself and my classmates who wrote and published their stories. I still can’t believe I wrote my first story."

Fatima Abdullah Al-Mazrourei, also from QAW, shared: “I’ve always loved writing stories, and this exhibition was the perfect chance to share one. My mother and friends encouraged me, especially after reading my story. Their support helped me overcome my shyness and believe in myself."
