Doha: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has advised residents to disconnect electrical appliances when they are not in use, warning that leaving devices plugged in can increase electricity consumption by up to 10% due to standby power.
Kahramaa urged the public to adopt simple energy-saving practices by unplugging electrical appliances when they are not in use, highlighting that doing so can significantly reduce unnecessary electricity consumption.
Kahramaa said that keeping electrical devices connected to the power supply without switching them off or unplugging them can increase energy consumption by as much as 10%.
