DOHA: Summer in Qatar is offering families a wide range of opportunities to keep children entertained, engaged and learning, with immersive experiences, interactive museums, nature attractions and creative activities among the options highlighted for the season.
From colourful adventures and hands-on exhibitions to encounters with wildlife, Visit Qatar has highlighted several family-friendly destinations and experiences where children can explore, play and discover while spending quality time with their families.
Among the attractions is the ColorVerse Experience, an immersive family adventure taking place at the South Parking of Katara Cultural Village until September 15.
The attraction takes children on an interactive journey to restore the missing colours of Colorama, combining light, sound, movement and teamwork to create an engaging experience.
The 35-minute adventure leads visitors through a series of imaginative spaces, including grey, red, green and blue zones. Other features include a slide area, mirror zone and a world reconstruction experience, offering children opportunities to interact with their surroundings while working together.
Families looking for an encounter with nature can also visit Panda House Park in Al Khor, home to Qatar’s resident giant pandas and the first facility of its kind in the Middle East.
The state-of-the-art sanctuary has been designed to provide the pandas with a safe and comfortable environment while offering visitors a rare opportunity to observe the animals up close. The attraction has become a popular family destination, combining recreation with greater awareness of wildlife and conservation.
At Katara Cultural Village, OliOli® Doha Children’s Museum provides another option for families seeking an educational experience during the summer.
Designed to encourage exploration, experimentation and creativity, the museum features six interactive galleries and 40 hands-on exhibits. Children can build, create, play and discover across spaces developed to stimulate curiosity and make learning an enjoyable part of the experience.
Another attraction combining entertainment and education is the Museum of Illusions at The Gate Mall in West Bay.
Featuring optical illusions, interactive exhibits and mind-bending challenges, the museum allows children and adults to test their perceptions while learning about the science behind visual phenomena. Experiences catering to different age groups also provide families with entertaining and unusual photo opportunities.
Meanwhile, families can further enjoy the summer season through Hala Summer 2026, which features the Kids Go Free campaign.
Under the initiative, children under 12 can benefit from complimentary stays, dining and selected experiences when accompanied by a paying adult. Participating attractions, restaurants, tours and entertainment venues are also offering a range of added-value promotions.
Hala Summer is also bringing entertainment programmes to shopping malls and hotels across Qatar, including complimentary activities, live performances, character Meet & Greets and interactive challenges.
The summer campaign also features themed hotel stays inspired by popular children’s characters and franchises, including Transformers, The Smurfs, CoComelon, and Hello Kitty and Friends.
