Disrupting Al Jazeera is political stupidity

It is not something new for the Al Jazeera network, with all its channels, to have its signal disrupted by some governments and their allies to prevent it from enlightening Arabs and non-Arabs across the world. This is done deliberately to restrict their people, who are bored of official media that broadcast only official news, statements and opinions prepared in advance that have nothing to do with people’s

concerns.

How long will these failed governments continue acting as stumbling blocks to impede the development of the media, although we are living in the age of new media and social networking? This is arrogance that reflects governments’ political stupidity and failure in running media institutions, as well their desire to stay in power for as long as possible.

Remarkably, these governments have begun to show an interest in the media more than ever before. Earlier, these governments were more interested in transferring public funds abroad before their people could get a chance to bring them to account and return the stolen money.

These governments are also interested in muzzling free speech and keeping their national media in the Middle Ages. In doing this, these governments want rulers to remain untouched by the media.

The aforementioned governments believe that they can block opposition media and stay in power until the end of time.

The fact is that they do not know that thrones do not last forever. They are not aware that nobody is interested in their politicised media anymore.

Just take a look at the media of any of these countries, which are still trying to deceive the public by fabricating facts and information. Moreover, when Al Jazeera succeeds in broadcasting the truth, it is disrupted and distorted by all possible means with the aim of killing

the truth.

In conclusion, free media is like a mountain that can never be shaken by winds, and its voice will reach everybody no matter what the challenges on the road are.
