DOHA: As part of construction works to develop Al Rayyan Road — Jassim Bin Mohammed Street, the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, yesterday announced that it will close Al Rayyan Road in one direction over a stretch of 700 metres. The stretch from
Al Diwan Intersection to Al Jasra Intersection will remain closed from December 22 for two-and-half months.
This section of the road will remain open in the opposite direction (Al Jasra Intersection to Al Diwan Intersection).
Ashghal has urged commuters travelling on the Al Rayyan Road toward Souq Waqif to use another route.
Travellers can turn left at the Diwan Intersection and take the Qalaat Al Askar Street leading to Corniche Street. They can then take a right turn at Jassim Bin Mohammed Street.
