DOHA: Residents of Hadhramah area near Al Wakrah bypass are complaining of mounting piles of construction waste in the neighbourhood.
The waste mostly originates because of the demolition of old buildings in the area to give way to new infrastructure development.
Unfortunately, the companies demolishing these buildings have not been responsible enough and have left the construction residue piling up in the area and spilling on to roads, reported Al Sharq.
Residents also complain that the area has several abandoned buildings that have already been served demolition notices but have not been affected. Other problems in the area include unpaved roads and lack of street lights.
They urged authorities to speed up the implementation of redevelopment plans in the area so that they can cope with the rapid development underway in most areas in the country.
Residents also complained that there were many trucks and buses, some abandoned and other parked improperly.
