Dubai: HBL Pakistan Super League has taken the UAE by storm as tickets for the final between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United have been sold out completely.
An action-packed HBL PSL tournament has seen some thrilling cricket and strong support from cricket fans across the UAE. TV ratings in Pakistan have also hit an all-time high, with the nation fully gripped in the HBL PSL fever.
Tickets for HBL PSL were made available globally on kyazoonga.ae/psl. In addition, fans across the UAE had the option to buy tickets from 85 retail outlets.
In a nail-biting finish in front of a packed Dubai crowd, Quetta Gladiators created history and became the first team to qualify for the final. Led by Pakistani wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed, the Gladiators are gearing up for the final with their overseas players Kumar Sangakkara, Kevin Pietersen, Grant Elliot, Nathan McCullum, Luke Wright and Pakistani hero Ahmad Shehzad forming a strong core.
Fresh from a resounding victory over Peshawar Zalmi, Misbah ul Haq's Islamabad United will be looking for their fifth consecutive win to get the winning trophy. With Brad Haddin, Azhar Mahmood, Mohammad Sami, Samuel Badree, Sharjeel Khan and Andre Russell part of United's dressing room, the team has peaked at the right time in the tournament.
The final of the first ever HBL Pakistan Super League will take place today at the Dubai International Stadium, starting at 8pm Dubai Standard Time (16:00GMT). The all-exciting final will be preceded by a spectacular fireworks display at the stadium starting at 6.30 pm.
