Doha: Education Above All Foundation (EAA) has asked parents of school-age children, who are not enrolled in any school to fill in an expression of interest form to find right solutions for them.
“Are you a resident of Qatar and have a school-age child (6-18) that is currently not enrolled in any school? EAA's new platform aims to identify children in Qatar facing barriers to access education & the right solutions for them,” EAA tweeted.
The various barriers mentioned in the form are:
1) Financial barrier - In case, you do not have enough financial resources to enroll your child in an appropriate affordable school
2) Age barrier - In case, your child has never attended school, or has dropped out of school and is mentioned/considered to be over age by the schools
3) Child performance barrier - In case, your child has been removed from the school after having failed multiple times in the same grade
4) Transportation barrier - In case, you cannot afford to arrange, or are not able to provide, transportation to and from the school
5) Gender barrier - In case, you cannot identify or secure a seat in an affordable “Girls only” school
6) School capacity barrier - In case, you are unable to secure a seat in an affordable school due to limited capacity at affordable community/private schools
7) Special Needs / Illness - In case, your child has an illness or special needs that the schools are unwilling to accommodate
8) Language barrier - In case, your child cannot secure enrollment due to the language barriers at available schools
9) Process barrier - In case, you do not hold the necessary paperwork as per MoEHE’s specific requirements to secure an enrollment at any school or receive exemption at Government schools
