DOHA: Qatar Development Bank (QDB), through its export services and promotion arm, Tasdeer, will support 10 Qatari companies from the plastics industry at The International Plastics Showcase (NPE2015), which will be held in Orlando, Florida, USA from March 23 to 27, said a statement yesterday.
NPE2015 is the world’s largest and most prominent plastics trade show and conference. Participants will include more than 2,000 companies and suppliers from 100 countries. The event focuses on innovative applications in key segments of the plastics market including: packaging, automotive, appliances, consumer products, medical devices and construction.
The Qatari companies announced by QDB include: Al Bayader International, Capital Plastics Company, Doha Plastics Company, Al Haya Plastics, Doha Extraco, Qatar Polymer Industrial Company, Qatar Plastics Products Company, Qatar Integrated Plastic Bags Factory, Al-Hudhaify Cables, and Universal Wrapping.
QDB is taking part in this expo for the second consecutive year following the previous edition, NPE 2012, which saw the participation of 13 Qatari companies. QDB’s export promotion efforts have helped Qatari companies book hundreds of millions of Qatari riyals in new orders in strategic markets around the world.
Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, CEO of QDB, said: “QDB is a devoted advocate for Qatar’s private sector, supporting companies and innovating constantly to drive growth and diversification of the Qatari economy. Our participation in this event underscores our commitment to Made in Qatar goods and our many years of successful trade promotion across the globe.”
“Our track record of boosting Qatari exports at this event and others like it is unparalleled. One company on this trade mission to Orlando, with QDB’s strategic support, is now exporting to the Latin America market - specifically Nicaragua. This milestone is just one of many but it illustrates why export promotion and Tasdeer’s success is such a critical element of QDB’s wider portfolio supporting the private sector,” he said.
