Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the launch of the pilot test for the TIMSS 2027 international study, set to begin on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The pilot will involve a sample of 40 public and private schools, targeting students in Grades 4 and 8, as part of preparations for participation in the international study measuring trends in mathematics and science.
The pilot test aims to assess the readiness of schools and students, as well as to evaluate technical and organizational procedures, helping ensure that the main assessment is implemented in line with approved international standards.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the quality of educational outcomes and improving students’ competencies in mathematics and science. This reflects its ongoing efforts to develop the education system and achieve the best results in international studies and assessments.
