Interior Ministry confirms 13 deaths, 66 injuries following Ras Laffan incident

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior clarifies that the incident that occurred at a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City, due to a technical malfunction during operations, resulted in the death of 13 people and 66 injuries, among people of different nationalities.
MoI added that immediately after the incident, the competent security authorities, in cooperation and coordination with the emergency response teams in Ras Laffan Industrial City, began their procedures at the site in accordance with the approved plans. The injured were transported to receive the necessary medical care, while search operations at the incident site have been completed.
The Ministry added that competent authorities are continuing their procedures to verify the circumstances of the incident, accurately determine its technical causes, and take the necessary measures in accordance with the applicable legal and technical frameworks.
The Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the competent authorities, also confirmed that no leak resulting from the incident has been detected that would pose a threat to the safety of individuals or the surrounding environment.
The Ministry also extended its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to shower them with His vast mercy and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
