KABUL: Eight Taliban militants were killed and five others injured in joint operations launched by Afghan security forces and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) during the past twenty-four hours in different regions of the country.
Afghanistan's Interior Ministry said in a statement today that Afghan forces carried out with ISAF several joint operations in different regions of the country, killing 8 Taliban militants, wounding 5 others and arresting 20 others.
The statement added that the operations took place in Nuristan, Kunar, Kandahar, Zabul, Paktia and Helmand provinces.
The security forces seized large quantities of heavy and light weapons. (QNA)
