The Sri Lankan importers based in Doha have established the Sri Lankan Entrepreneurs Association in Qatar affiliated with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Doha, The association’s vision is to ensure significant Sri Lankan imports with high quality in the Qatar market.
The association will promote the imports from Sri Lanka to Qatar by creating a bridge between importers of Sri Lankan commodities in Qatar with the Sri Lankan exporters. It will also stimulate importers in Qatar to diversify the range of imports.
The association will create a platform for Doha-based importers of Sri Lankan commodities to raise awareness about import business and how to solve issues with the Embassy of Sri Lanka and Qatari authorities’ support.
The Charge d’Affaires at the Sri lankan embassy in Doha, Ratnasingam Kohularangan presented the affiliation letter of the Embassy to the President of the Association Prince Stephen. The General Secretary of the Association Anoja Jeevani noted that the association would serve as facilitator between importers and exporters from Qatar and Sri Lanka and notify both parties on market demand.
