Doha, Qatar: The Veterinary Research Section of the Livestock Affairs Department has adopted a new technology, automated ELISA system to the service.
All automated ELISA systems offer the basic functions needed to process an ELISA: reagent dispensing, microplate washing, incubation and absorbance measurement.
The new system will increase the capacity of the number of samples, speed up the work at a rate of four tests automatically at the same time by improve efficiency and quality.
A training programme was conducted for the technical staff on the device with the aim of developing professional performance and using modern laboratory techniques at the Ministry of Municipality.
Livestock sector of Qatar witnessed tremendous growth during past few years. The number of heads of livestock including goats, sheep, camels and cows was recorded at 1,537,355 last year, according to statistics issued earlier by the Livestock Affairs Department of the Ministry of Municipality.
