FIFA has announced that Hani Ballan (pictured), a member of the Executive Committee of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), has joined the composition of a new FIFA Referees Committee which is headed by Pierluigi Collina.
This is the first time that a QFA official is joining the FIFA Referees Committee for the 2017-2021 period.
The Referees Committee shall implement and interpret the Laws of the Game and may propose amendments to the Laws of the Game to the FIFA Council.
It shall appoint the referees and assistant referees for matches in competitions organised by FIFA.
Ballan is also the Vice Chairman of the AFC Referees Committee.
A highly experienced football official, Ballan has served QFA and Qatar Stars League (QSL) in various capacities.
