Doha, Qatar: The Operations Center at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has carried out intensive inspection campaigns and responded to complaints and reports to safeguard consumer rights.

The Ministry on Monday released statistics on its inspection campaigns, as well as the reports and complaints received between February 28 and March 22, 2026.

During this period, 318 inspectors worked in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, carrying out a total of 49,756 emergency inspection orders.

The crackdown resulted in the detection of 80 commercial violations, which led to the closure of two establishments.

The Ministry affirmed that these campaigns aim to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, guarantee the availability of essential goods in markets, and enforce pricing regulations.

The inspections also seek to maintain market stability and monitor stock levels.

The Ministry further revealed that it received 408 complaints during the period and responded to all of them successfully within less than 24 hours.

It added that each complaint undergoes a set of procedures, including verification of the report, monitoring and addressing violations, and taking necessary legal action against those found in violation.

"The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is committed to protecting consumer rights and providing a fair and competitive business environment that supports market balance and enhances stability and sustainability," the Ministry said in a statement.
